Entertainment attorney Megan Dunn has meticulously crafted her legal practice with a clear vision: utilizing her in-depth industry knowledge to elevate client service.
Before embarking on her legal journey, Megan pursued her undergraduate studies at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she delved into the intricacies of the music industry and discovered her passion for the law during a copyright class.
Megan's experience in Nashville also included a dynamic position at a Music Row public relations firm, where she contributed to artist development strategies and organized showcasing events for live music performances. She also skillfully pitched a music publisher's song catalog for film and television opportunities, all while overseeing the administration of the company's licenses and agreements. From working the merch table at rock shows to appearing in music videos, Megan has garnered a wide variety of first-hand industry knowledge that has helped her become a valuable resource to her clients in the entertainment business.
Armed with a B.A. in Songwriting and a minor in Music Business from Belmont University, Megan returned to her home state of Texas to pursue her legal education at Baylor University School of Law. Her time at Baylor was marked by active leadership as the President of the Entertainment Law Society, where she organized professional development events for fellow law students.
Megan further honed her skills as a Judicial Intern to Justice Nora Longoria of the Thirteenth Court of Appeals and through an internship with the Felony Intake Division at the McLennan County District Attorney’s Office. Her dedication extended to studying real estate and property law, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of various legal domains.
Upon earning her Juris Doctor and successfully passing the Bar, Megan relocated to Austin, where she continued to amass valuable experience as an Associate Attorney at multiple law firms. Since establishing her own practice, Megan has remained dedicated to serving both the Austin area and her hometown in Dallas/Fort Worth.
Outside the legal realm, Megan finds joy in playing the guitar, indulging in literature, savoring coffee, practicing yoga, and cherishing moments with her family.
